Per the official website of FC Barcelona, winger/forward Alexis Sanchez did not practice with the Barcelona first team on Friday and is "extremely doubtful" for El Clasico against Real Madrid. Sanchez picked up a slight knock in the Champions League match against Chelsea on Wednesday and was expected to be rested even if he did get fit enough to play Saturday's game.
Along with current first-team winger Isaac Cuenca, who was promoted from Barcelona B this season, B-team player Christian Tello trained with Barcelona's first team on Friday. B-team defenders Marc Bartra and Martin Montoya also trained with 18 players from the senior squad. Three of those players will have to be dropped for the matchday squad, assuming Sanchez does not make the bench.
Between Cesc Fabregas, Pedro Rodriguez, Thiago Alcantara, Tello and Cuenca, there should be two spots in Barcelona's starting XI up for grabs.
