Barcelona Vs. Real Madrid, 2012 El Clasico: Cristiano Ronaldo Reestablishes Real Lead

Stay connected with SB Nation

Real Madrid respond to being pegged back to 1-1 by... scoring instantly. That's certainly something. Mesut Ozil roams down the right flank and spots the central run of Cristiano Ronaldo, laying in a perfect path for the Portuguese. Ronaldo takes it perfectly, rounding Victor Valdes before slotting in from an acute angle to reestablish the visitors' lead.

And now things are kicking off. Ronaldo's penalised for an imaginary foul on Dani Alves before acting like he'd been shot in the chest in an obvious attempt to get the right back booked. A few minutes later, Ozil is booked for timewasting as he gets prepared to take a corner kick. Then Estaban Granero picks up a booking for fouling Lionel Messi. The resulting free kick looks pretty interesting, but is ultimately cleared out for a corner, from which Real Madrid win a free kick. It's 2-1 to the visitors with ten minutes left.
