Santos Laguna Vs. Monterrey, 2012 CONCACAF Champions League Final: Time And TV Schedule

Stay connected with SB Nation

The title of CONCACAF's best looks set to go to Monterrey again. A 2-0 win in the first leg has them sitting pretty, even if they do have to play the second leg in Torreon. With Humberto Suazo and Aldo de Nigris leading the way, odds are they get a goal and once they do, Santos Laguna is going to need to win by three goals and that is highly, highly unlikely.

A second consecutive CONCACAF Champions League title would be very deserving for Monterrey, who have prioritized the competition, unlike many of their Mexican counterpart. They want to win the Champions League and be crowned the best in the region, partly for the honor that comes with that, but also because it guarantees them a spot in the Club World Cup, where they can take on the confederation champions from around the world.

Finals, no matter the competition, always bring drama and this one is no different. While Monterrey does look the favorite, a goal by Santos Laguna throws this tie right back in the balance and that gold trophy will be sitting besides the pitch the entire time.

Just as was the case with the first leg, those in Europe, Asia and Africa won't be able to find coverage of the match on TV, but it is available throughout the Americas. A champion will be crowned tonight.
