Columbus Crew Vs. FC Dallas, 2012 MLS: Crew Finally Win

Stay connected with SB Nation

Sebastian Miranda's 72nd minute goal gave the Crew a 2-1 win over 10-man FC Dallas, snapping a six-match unbeaten run. Both of the Crew's goals came after Zach Loyd was shown his second yellow card, leaving FC Dallas short-handed for the second time in their past three games. They have not won any of their past six matches.

It would be hard not to blame Miranda's goal on Dallas being down a man. Miranda was left completely unmarked at the top of the penalty area on a corner kick from Nemanja Vukovic. When the ball got to him, there wasn't a defender within 10 yards.

Dallas had started the match strong. Fabian Castillo opened the scoring with a 22nd minute strike, cutting inside a defender and squeezing a ball past Crew goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum.

But shortly after Loyd's second yellow, which came when he got his arm a little high while battling for a loose ball, Justin Meram equalized in the 67th minute.
