It seemed like just yesterday that Siphiwe Tshabalala was igniting South Africa, Luis Suarez was becoming the villain to Africa that he would later become to the rest of the world and Nigel de Jong was karate-kicking players, all so the Netherlands could lose anyway. Amazingly, though, it has been two years since the 2010 World Cup.
All that means is that it is two years until the 2014 World Cup -- exactly two years, actually. The next edition of the world's biggest sporting event gets underway on June 12, 2014, which means it's 730 days away. The drumbeats and samba of the Brazilians, the beaches of Rio and Joga Bonito? Olá Brasil!
The World Cup is heading back to South America for the first time since 1978, and you can bet that some of the world's most passionate football fans are ready for it. So, too, will be the visitors headed for Brazil. If you have an extra ticket, call me maybe?
