South American World Cup qualifying resumes on Saturday with three matches. Peru and Colombia close out the round on Sunday.
CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying is in its early stages, but thus far, it appears that Bolivia is the only team that will not challenge for a place at Brazil 2014. Peru, Venezuela and Ecuador look much better than they did during the last qualifying cycle, and the battle for the final two spots and the playoff spot should be tight well into 2013.
On top of the qualifying table, things are mostly going according to plan. Argentina had one bad slip-up against Venezuela, but Chile and Paraguay aren't doing enough to make them pay for it at the moment. Along with Uruguay, the Albiceleste can establish themselves as clear favorites to go to the World Cup with a couple of wins during the next two matches.
Both Uruguay and Argentina are at home on Saturday and would cause massive national disappointments if they did not win. Chile face a tough test in La Paz on Saturday, while Colombia face a massive match away to Peru on Sunday.
Schedule (all times ET)
Uruguay vs. Venezuela - Saturday, 2 p.m.
Bolivia vs. Chile - Saturday, 4:10 p.m.
Argentina vs. Ecuador - Saturday, 6:30 p.m.
Peru vs. Colombia - Sunday, 1 p.m.
