Lineups have been announced for England's friendly against Belgium, where Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Danny Welbeck have been handed starts as Roy Hodgson attempts to tune his squad in preparation for Euro 2012. Steven Gerrard captains the side from the central midfield, although James Milner might be starting deep with Gerrard advanced instead.
Belgium, meanwhile, appear to be playing an odd game with their team shape -- I'm not seeing a sensible right back option in their starting eleven, which means we're probably looking at a back three of Jan Vertonghen, Thomas Vermaelen and Vincent Kompany. Meanwhile, nearly-Chelsea man Eden Hazard will be playing as a false nine. In other words, Belgium appear to be doing a very odd Barcelona impression. This should be fun.
England (4-2-3-1): Joe Hart; Ashley Cole, John Terry, Gary Cahill, Glen Johnson; Steven Gerrard, Scott Parker; James Milner, Ashley Young, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain; Danny Welbeck.
Belgium (3-4-3): Simon Mignolet; Jan Vertonghen, Thomas Vermaelen, Vincent Kompany; Marouane Fellaini, Axel Witsel, Guillaume Gillet, Moussa Dembele; Kevin Miralles, Eden Hazard, Dries Martens.
Update: Vincent Kompany has been injured in the warmup.
