The Euro 2012 was cut in half as of Tuesday with Holland topping the list of disappointments.

Greece meanwhile, reprising their 2004 roles as huge underdogs, are back in the final eight, although they face a daunting challenge in Germany. With the Greeks owing so much money to Germany in the European Union, maybe there is a little side bet between politicians here?

The Euro 2012 quarterfinals odds list offers few surprises, but some excellent upset potential.

June 21st - Czech Republic vs. Portugal Odds

Czech Republic 5.50

Portugal 1.72

Draw 3.50

Things did not look good for Czech Republic after getting killed in their first Group A match in a 4-1 loss to Russia, but they shored up their defense and ended up winning the group.

The big keys for the Czechs in this match is G Petr Cech and the defense must play well, they have to look for the counter attack, and their offense needs Vaclav Pilar, who scored 2 goals in group play, to pressure the Portugal defense.

Portugal lost 1-0 to Germany in the first Group B match, but won their next 2 to advance out of the Group of Death. The defense, led by Pepe, played decent in group play and star FW Cristiano Ronaldo scored 2 goals in the last group match against Holland.

The Portuguese played great in the Holland match and if they play like that again they should advance to the semis.

June 22nd - Germany vs. Greece Odds

Germany 1.33

Greece 11.00

Draw 5.00

Greece is the big underdog in this match and on top of that they will be without captain Giorgos Karagounis, who was booked for a dive in the last group match. He scored the lone goal in that game and he will be missed.

For Greece to pull off the huge upset their defense and G Michail Sifakis have to play well. In their 1-0 over Russia to vault them into the quarters they lost the time of possession battle and only had 5 shots.

Germany won all 3 Group matches in the Group of Death and they looked solid on both sides of the ball. Philipp Lahm leads a solid defense, but the MF will be key in this match.

They cannot be frustrated by the a stingy Greece defense that will pack the back line and they must create scoring chances and get the ball to Mario Gomez, who is tied with the most goals in the Euro.

June 23rd - Spain vs. France Odds

Spain 1.80

France 5.00

Draw 3.50

Which Spain squad will show up in this match? The one that crushed Ireland in Group C play or the one that was not very impressive in matches against Italy and Croatia?

Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez lead the great Spanish MF and Fernando Torres has to step up in this match. G Iker Casillas has played well in the Euro and France will test him.

Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema have to key the French offense, but their defense and play in the MF will be key for them in this match. They cannot get into a lull since Spain will likely dominate the time if possession.

June 24th - England vs. Italy Odds

England 2.80

Italy 2.75

Draw 3.10

England comes into this match with confidence since they did not lose a Group D match and they have star striker Wayne Rooney back. John Terry and Steven Gerrard have shown they still have gas in the tank and G Joe Hart has played well in goal.

Can the solid Italian offense thwart Rooney, Theo Walcott, and Danny Welbeck? Big question in this match. Italy’s offense did not look great in Group C play, but their MF play was solid led by Daniele De Rossi and Andrea Pirlo and G Gianluigi Buffon has shown he is still one of the best goalies in the world.

Italy needs to keep the score down, as the lower the score the more of a chance they have to win.
