Canada struggled to create chances in their 2-1 loss to the United States on Saturday, but they were outright robbed of a goal on one of their only two real opportunities during the game. In first-half stoppage time, Hope Solo was forced to make an incredible save after a shot was deflected, catching her completely wrong-footed. She changed directions and recovered in time to make a crazy last-second stop, then made a second save a second later. Video, from U.S. Soccer, is after the jump.
Kaylyn Kyle's follow-up shot looked like it might have crossed the line but, if it did, it's because she kicked the ball when Solo already had it in her hands. Solo was more or less a spectator in the first half, so to make a stop like this after standing around without seeing much of the ball for 45 minutes was incredible.
