MLS Vs. Chelsea, 2012 All-Star Game: 13 More Named To 'Inactive' Roster

Stay connected with SB Nation

MLS named 13 more players to the "inactive" roster for Wednesday's All-Star Game against Chelsea. Among the notable additions are San Jose Earthquakes players Jon Busch and Marvin Chavez, bringing their total number of All-Stars to five. Sporting Kansas City, which had Roger Espinoza and Kei Kamara named as inactive All-Stars also have five players.

Although the honor does give the players a monetary bonus, the honor is mostly symbolic as they will not participate in the festivities. The Collective Bargaining Agreement which the Players' Union and league signed prior to the 2010 season mandates that at least 32 players be named to the All-Star Roster. This brings the total to 33. MLS player votes decided the final 13 spots.

Complete list of inactive All-Stars: Jon Busch (San Jose Earthquakes), Marvin Chávez (San Jose Earthquakes), Kenny Cooper (New York Red Bulls), Geoff Cameron (Houston Dynamo), Brad Davis (Houston Dynamo), Fabián Espíndola (Real Salt Lake), Roger Espinoza (Sporting Kansas City), Kei Kamara (Sporting Kansas City), Fredy Montero (Seattle Sounders FC), Jámison Olave (Real Salt Lake), Marco Pappa (Chicago Fire), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake), Brek Shea (FC Dallas).
