Toronto FC Vs. Houston Dynamo, 2012 MLS: Dynamo Stay Hot With 2-0 Win

Stay connected with SB Nation

The last time the Houston Dynamo played in Canada was also the last time that the Dynamo lost, way back on June 23. They have since been nearly flawless, counting two draws as their only blemishes.

In their return to the Great White North on Saturday, they continued their great run of form with a 2-0 win over Toronto FC that moved them into second place in the Eastern Conference.

The Dynamo got on the scoreboard in the 45th minute when they took advantage of a corner kick. The ball was hit to the near post, where Bobby Boswell nodded it on toward the back post. There, Calen Carr was standing unmarked and just had to head the ball over the line to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

Houston then put the match to bed in the 86th minute thanks to some nifty team play. Oscar Boniek Garcia eluded a man in the midfield with a clever flick and slipped Brad Davis in down the left. Davis then dragged the ball back for Brian Ching in the middle, who had a largely open net to shoot to. The veteran wasn't about to miss that, and he didn't, sliding the ball home to seal up the three points for the Dynamo.
