Inter Milan have announced the signing of Slovenian goalkeeper Samir Handanović from fellow Serie A club Udinese.
Another day, another Udinese player goes missing. This time it's Samir Handanović, finally making the move that has been rumored for so long. The details of the Slovenian's move to Inter Milan haven't been revealed, but it is believed the nerazzurri paid about €11m for the goalkeeper.
The 27-year-old is set to make an impact with Inter, but what many are wondering is: what of Julio Cesar? The Brazilian won Serie A's Goalkeeper of the Year award as recently as 2010, and he's still widely considered one of the best in the world. But Handanović didn't come in to sit on the bench, so it's likely that Julio Cesar will be on his way out -- despite Inter's assurances that he won't be leaving.
As for Udinese, at this point, we're all wondering if they're going to have a team to field for Champions League qualification.Juventus announced the signing of Mauricio Isla and Kwadwo Asamoah last week, and Napoli are expected to make Pablo Armero and Juan Cuadrado official early this week. As who will take over in goal, that's likely to be Željko Brkić, who was on loan at Siena last season.
