The next Lilian Thuram says Bonjour to Serie A, while contract rebel Diakite looks set to wave Arrivederci to the Olimpico outfit!

Lazio have completed the signing of Bordeaux defender Michael Ciani, but Sergio Floccari and Modibo Diakite look to be on their way out of Rome.

Ciani has joined the Biancocelesti for €4m after spending three seasons with the Ligue 1 club. The 28-year-old played his final game for Bordeaux in Sunday's 0-0 draw at Paris Saint Germain. After the game, he revealed to reporters, "I am happy to go to Lazio, they are a great club."

Ciani was unveiled at Lazio's Formello training ground on Monday evening, where he revealed he wants to emulate retired countryman Lilian Thuram. A former stalwart of both Parma and Juventus, Thuram enjoyed ten succesful years in Serie A between 1996 and 2006.

One man Ciani could be replacing in the side is Diakite, as contract talks with the defender have reached an impasse. The two parties have thus far failed to agree on an agreement to Diakite's current contract, which is into its final year. It's been reported that the club have put a new five-year deal on the table, but the two sides can't agree on financial terms.

Lazio President Claudio Lotito has blasted Diakite for having "completely the wrong attitude," and warned he won't be held to ransom. He said: "Lazio offered him a contract which is three times better than what he gets but he wants to go to Juventus, Inter or Milan.

One player definitely leaving Rome is Sergio Floccari. Lazio have agreed a €4.5m deal with Bologna for the forgotten frontman, who netted eight times in 28 league games while on loan at Parma last season. The 30-year-old is not in new coach Vladimir Petkovic's plans and will be looking to start afresh at the Dall'Ara.
