Europa League Playoff Round: Liverpool, Newcastle Advance to Group Stages

All the places in the 2012-13 Europa League group stages are claimed, the draw will be held tomorrow.

A full slate of Europa League playoff round matches today saw several notable European clubs advance on to the group stages.

Liverpool needed a late goal from Luis Suarez after goalkeeper Pepe Reina's howler allowed Hearts of Midlothian to equalize. Internazionale drew 2-2 with FC Vaslui to give them a 4-2 aggregate victory, while Newcastle advanced 2-1 after defeating Atromitos 1-0 at the Sports Direct Arena tonight.

If absurd results are your thing, look no further than PSV Eindhoven's 9-0 win over Zeta today. Combined with their 5-0 first leg win, Eindhoven advanced on a whopping 14-0 aggregate total. Athletic Bilbao, last year's runner-up,drew 3-3 with HJK, but their 6-0 first leg win allowed them to move on comfortably on aggregate 9-3.

FC Twente gets the comeback of the round around. Down 3-1 after the first leg to Bursaspor, and 4-2 on aggregate at halftime, Twente scored twice in the second half to send the match to extra time and thanks to Leroy Fer's goal in the 116th minute, advanced 5-4 on aggregate.

Anzhi Makhachkala (6-0 over AZ Alkmaar), Neftchi Baku (4-2 over APOEL), Partizan (3-3 on away goals over Tromso), Martimo (3-0 over Dila Gori), Molde (4-1 over Heerenveen), Club Brugge (7-1 over Debrecen), Marseilli (2-1 over Sheriff Tiraspol), Young Boys (3-2 over Midtjylland), Hannover 96 (10-4 over Slask Wroclaw), Metalist Kharkiv (4-1 over Dinamo Bucuresti), Sporting Lisbon (6-1 over Horsens), Hapoel Tel Aviv (7-1 over F91 Dudelange), Sparta Prague (4-2 over Feyenoord), Levante (3-0 over Motherwell), Bordeaux (3-2 over Red Star Belgrade), Viktoria Plzen (2-2 on away goals over Lokeren), Lazio (5-1 over Mura), AIK (2-1 over CSKA Moscow), Rosenborg (3-2 over Legia Warsaw), Steaua Bucuresti (5-0 over Ekranas), Dnipro (6-2 over Slovan Liberec), Stuttgary (3-1 over Dynamo Moscow), Rapid Wien (4-2 over PAOK), Genk (3-2 over Luzern), Videoton (0-0, 4-2 on PKs over Tranzonspor)

The group stage draw will be held tomorrow in Monaco.
