Clint Dempsey has signed a three-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of £6m.
Clint Dempsey has concluded a lengthy saga by finally putting pen to paper on a three-year deal with Tottenham with less than an hour of the transfer window to spare.
The USA forward was signed for a fee believed to be around £6m after arriving late at Spurs Lodge to complete a medical and agree a contract with Tottenham boss Daniel Levy. Having missed the noon deadline, Dempsey will not be available for Tottenham's weekend fixture, but should be available when he returns after the following international break.
Liverpool had previously attempted to sign the player, but could not agree a deal with Fulham, and were later reported to have refused to offer more than £4m for the player, leaving Tottenham free to make their move.
Dempsey was voted Fulham's player of the year last season after he scored 22 goals in all competitions, the last of which helped him to become the first American ever to score 50 goals in the Premier Leage.
