Manchester City have handed surprise starts to new signings Javi Garcia, Scott Sinclair, and Maicon, while Michael Owen begins his Potters career on the bench.
New Manchester City signings Javi Garcia, Scott Sinclair, and Maicon all start as the Blues travel to the Britannia Stadium to face Stoke City.
Balotelli and Tevez are also included in City's forward line, as Edin Dzeko and David Silva start on the bench and Sergio Aguero is left out of the squad. Aguero underwent a late fitness test earlier today after Blues boss Roberto Mancini expressed his anger that the Argentinian striker had not stayed in England during his injury.
Meanwhile, new Stoke City signing Michael Owen is on the bench, while the Potters give a start to Steven N'Zonzi on his debut, but Geoff Cameron is dropped from the starting line-up and Maurice Edu does not make the squad.
Stoke City: Begovic,Wilkinson,Shawcross, Huth, Wilson; Walters, Whelan,N'Zonzi, Adam, Kightly; Crouch. Bench: Sorensen, Cameron, Owen, Whitehead, Upson, Etherington, Jerome.
Manchester City: Hart, Maicon, Kompany,Lescott,Clichy,Garcia,Y Toure, Nasri, Tevez, Sinclair, Balotelli. Bench: Wright, Kolarov, K Toure, Barry, Rodwell, Silva, Dzeko.
