Everton have a difficult start to the League Cup as they travel to Elland Road to take on Leeds United.
Everton face a stern test as they enter the League Cup in the third round with the original tricky away tie, to Leeds United at Elland Road.
Everton are perhaps the leading form team in England at the moment, but they will know that they could come unstuck should they fail to negotiate this difficult encounter. David Moyes has not won a trophy in his whole Everton tenure, but with his side getting off to an uncharacteristically-strong start to the season, he may feel this is the year for his team.
The home side will be tamed slightly with a few injuries, with captain Lee Peltier and striker Luciano Becchio both doubts. David Norris and Paul Green will also definitely be absent.
Everton meanwhile have only Darron Gibson and Tony Hibbert out of action. Nikica Jelavic has recovered from a shin injury and is available, while Sylvain Distin, who has been in excellent form this season, should return to the side after he missed the Toffees' 3-0 thumping of Swansea at the weekend. Good squad rotation will be vital for Everton to maintain their form throughout the season, as their squad lacks depth, but with few injuries, Everton should have enough to get the job done here.
