Alessandro Del Piero, whose contract with Italian giants Juventus ran out this summer, has announced a move to A-League side Sydney FC.
Last week, those paying attention to Italian football were convinced that Alessandro Del Piero had completed a move to A-League side Sydney FC. Turns out they were jumping the gun a bit. The Juventus and Italy legend was just gathering information, weighing his options, allowing multiple clubs to take him out to dinner and sweet talk him.
But the question of where the midfielder will end up has finally been resolved -- and it really is Sydney FC. ADP held a press conference on Wednesday to announce his move. No word yet, however, on how he feels about moving to a club that's nickname is Bling FC.
Del Piero's contract is for two years and believed to be worth €3.2m per year. The Bling managed to scoop him up despite stiff competition from Liverpool, who watched themselves last week and realised they needed some help in the midfield. That, or the slightly better weather in Australia seduced the Italian.
