Robin van Persie also starts, partnering Javier Hernandez up front, and Rio Ferdinand replaces Nemanja Vidic in defence. Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley are again the midfield pairing for United, although Ryan Giggs and Ashley Young start on the wings.

Wigan return to their 3-5-2 formation, with Franco Di Santo and Arouna Kone up front. The return of their central defenders sees James McCarthy return to central midfield, along with James McArthur and Shaun Maloney.
