The German Football Association (DFB) have announced fines for four clubs due to actions by supporters in Bundesliga and DFB Pokal matches.
Bayern Munich have been fined €15,000 for flares being lit during their October 20 against Fortuna Düsseldorf, fireworks being set off against Nürnberg on November 17, and a fan running on the pitch against Borussia Dortmund on December 1.
Düsseldorf have been fined €10,000 due to a fan throwing a beer at a referee and an opposing player during their November 23 match against Hamburg and fireworks being set off in the crowd in their December 8 match against Nürnberg.
Mainz were hit with a €8,000 fine for flares being lit against Borussia Mönchengladbach on December 9. Köln were fined €5,000 for flares being lit in the supporters section during the club's second round DFB Pokal match against Wormatia Worms on October 30.
German football officials have been trying to find a way to walk the fine line between fan safety and keeping the best stadium atmosphere in Europe. The DFL and clubs voted in December in favor of more stringent security measures to counteract fan violence.
