Africa Cup of Nations 2013: Group D features the competition's best side

The Africa Cup of Nations hasn't been the highest quality tournament thus far, even if Burkina Faso's equalizer provided some drama on Monday. Hopefully the Ivory Coast bring their best on Tuesday.

None of Nigeria, Ghana, defending champions Zambia or hosts South Africa have looked like teams that should be branded as favorites in the Africa Cup of Nations. Ivory Coast, who entered the tournament as the favorites to lift the cup, suddenly look even better without even playing a game. Expectant fans will be hoping they can smash Togo on Tuesday and avoid the slow starts that have plagued their rivals.

Tuesday's late game is an interesting one as well, with two North African powers squaring off in a match that should decide second place in Group D. Algeria, who did not qualify for the 2012 edition of the tournament, have overhauled their squad recently and left most of their recognizable veterans off the team. Sofiane Feghouli of Valencia is not only their best player, but one of the top players in the tournament.

Schedule

Ivory Coast vs. Togo - 4 p.m. local, 10 a.m. ET
Tunisia vs. Algeria - 7 p.m. local, 1 p.m. ET
