Swansea City vs. Chelsea, 2013 League Cup semifinal: Preview and TV schedule

Laurence Griffiths

Swansea City will look to hold onto their two-goal advantage against Chelsea to give themselves the chance of making it to their first ever major cup final.

Swansea City will look to hold onto their two-goal lead in front of their home fans as they face Chelsea at the Liberty Stadium.

The Swans are 2-0 up from the first leg after taking advantage of two bad mistakes from Branislav Ivanovic in the away leg, although despite their home advantage, they will know that they are facing a Chelsea side whose recent form has been far stronger away from Stamford Bridge.

A very winnable final against League Two minnows Bradford City awaits the victory, so both teams will be going all out for the victory - Swansea would make the first major final of the club's history, while Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez is in need of proof that his reign at the Blues can be a success.

Both teams have few injury problems, and with Swansea's best performances being at home and Chelsea's coming away, it should be a finely-balanced clash between two good teams.

Swansea City injuries and suspensions

Out: Kemy Agustein (ankle)

Chelsea injuries and suspensions

Out: John Obi Mikel (international duty), Victor Moses (international duty), Oriol Romeu (knee).

Swansea have Chico Flores back to the side after the defender suffered a knee injury. Michel Vorm is fully-fit but Gerhard Tremmel has been promised a start after his earlier performances in the competition.

John Terry should be fit to start for Chelsea, although may still make do with a place on the bench. The Blues skipper has returned from an ankle injury but has only made one brief substitute appearance since returning. Elsewhere, John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses remain on Africa Cup of Nations duty, while Oriol Romeu is out for the season, but there are no new injury concerns for the hosts.

Match Date\Time: Wednesday, 7:45 p.m. local, 2:45 p.m. ET
