Please? Goals? Anyone? We don't even care who scores them.
None of Group A's four teams managed a goal on the first day of the Africa Cup of Nations as they played out two excruciatingly boring matches. South Africa disappointed their expectant home fans in the opening game of the tournament, while the result in the Angola-Morocco match was a bit more expected.
With all four teams on one point, no one is truly in need of a win, but South Africa's fans will be extremely disappointed with anything but victory against the weakest team in the group, Angola. Manucho, Gilberto and Djalma pose an attacking threat, just like they have in the previous two editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, but they weren't enough to fire Angola into the knockout round in 2012.
While Morocco and Cape Verde certainly didn't entertain in their respective first matches, they probably have more capacity to entertain than South Africa and Angola. Surely, some goals will come out of that game. Hopefully.
Schedule
South Africa vs. Angola - 4 p.m. local, 10 a.m. ET
Morocco vs. Cape Verde - 7 p.m. local, 1 p.m. ET
