La Liga Saturday: Valencia and Levante both win on stoppage time goals

Valencia and Levante both took home three points thanks to goals in stoppage time. Zaragoza and Espanyol played to a scoreless draw, while Celta Vigo got an important point against Sociedad.

Here's a wrap up of today's action from La Liga.

Celta Vigo 1-1 Real Sociedad

Luckily for Barcelona there's not tournament committee judging their wins and losses because Real Sociedad would have damaged their RPI big time after today's 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo. Michael Krohn-Dehli got Celta off to a flying start in the 32nd minute, blasting in a clever back-heel delievery from Iago Aspas. Things turned around for Sociedad starting in the 50th minute when Augusto Fernández was shown a second yellow card for handling the ball and left Celta with 10 men. Sociedad found the equalizer nine minutes later when Gorka Elustondo headed home a goal off a Gonzalo Castro corner. Despite several great chances in the final 30 minutes, Sociedad couldn't find a second goal and had to settle for a point.

Levante 2-1 Real Valladolid

A stoppage time own goal by Valladolid's Antonio Rukavina allowed Levante to earn full points and keep pace in the race for a European spot. Baraja put Valladolid ahead in the 8th minute volleying in a misplayed clearance off a corner. Jose Barkero equalized just before halftime for Levante.

Real Zaragoza 0-0 Espanyol

Zaragoza and Espanyol battled to a scoreless draw in a match that saw both sides have a player sent off. Zaragoza dominated play throughout. but were unable to break through despite having far more chances. Espanyol's Javí López was sent off after picking up a second yellow card in the 79th minute. Before Zaragoza could take advantage, they lost Cristian Sapunaru who was shown his second yellow card.

Deportivo La Coruña 2-3 Valencia

Valencia won the match of the day, coming back from a 2-1 deficit at half time to win on a stoppage time goal from Ricardo Costa. Valencia took the in the match's opening minute when Jonas scored on a looping header off a Pablo Piatti corner. Deportivo came back with two goals from Riki in the final 13 minutes of the first half, including one in stoppage time. Nelson Haedo Valdez equalized for Valencia in the 63rd minute and the match looked destined for a draw until Costa scored on a header two minutes in to stoppage time.
