An assist hat-trick by Ivan Rakitic helped lead Sevilla to a painless 3-0 victory over Granada
Unai Emery's Sevilla revival is off to a good start as the Sevillistas cruised to a painless home victory over Granada. It's Sevilla's second straight excellent result having defeated Real Zaragoza less than a week ago in the Copa del Rey.
Sevilla moves up to 11th place with the win while Granada remain out of the drop zone thanks to poor results from the three teams below them.
It took a bit for Sevilla to get their opening goal but it finally arrived in the 32nd minute when Geoffrey Kondogbia headed the ball past Granada goalkeeper Roberto off an out-swinging corner Ivan Rakitic. It was just the beginning for Rakitic who had an excellent game.
It took awhile for Sevilla to get their second and put the game to bed.
In the 71st minute Rakitic was again involved, this time with a cross in from the left side that was headed in by Álvaro Negredo. Five minutes later the Croatin midfielder got his third assist of the match when his corner kick was finished by Gary Medel to make the final score 3-0.
