Real Madrid entered the day down on aggregate but cruised past Celta Vigo behind a hat trick from Cristiano Ronaldo. Sevilla and Real Zaragoza also advanced to the quarterfinals.
Here's a quick recap of today's fifth round action from the Copa del Rey
Sevilla FC 1-2 (6-2) Mallorca
Mallorca won the day thanks to second half goals from Brandon Thomas Llamas and Alejandro Alfaro, but that wasn't enough to overcome Sevilla 5-0 lead after the first leg. Manu scored for Los Rojiblancos. Sevilla are chasing their sixth Copa del Rey title, the last having come in 2010.
Real Madrid 4-0 (5-2) Celta Vigo
Sergio Ramos was sent off in the 72nd minute (bad Sergio!) but it didn't matter as Real Madrid were already coasting by that point thanks in large part to Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese striker took out his Ballon d'or frustrations on Celta Vigo scoring three times and leading Madrid in to the next round. Celta will be disappointed, but hopefully not surprised, by the fact they couldn't hold on to the aggregate lead from the first match.
Real Zaragoza 2-0 (3-0) Levante
Zaragoza coasted in to the quarterfinals with a 2-0 victory over Levante, 3-0 on aggregate. Franco Zuculini and Paco Montanes scored for Los Blanquillos, while the only achievement of note for Levante was a red card shown to Héctor Rodas.
