Spain cannot clinch their spot in Brazil with a win over Belarus but they can take a big step towards that goal if the defending world champions can take care of business against Group I's last place side.
This is Vicente del Bosque's 'game in hand' for his team thanks to the uneven schedule caused by the group only having five teams. Spain are currently tied on points with France but a win over Belarus, combined with at least one point in their final qualifier against Georgie would ensure a chance to defend their 2010 title.
David Villa and Jordi Alba are the two biggest absences due to injury and Villa's loss could be Michu's gain who was a bit of a surprise call-up to replace the injured Atêtico Madrid striker.
