USA vs. Jamaica: Lineups

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Aron Johnnsson gets his first start for the United States, while Deshorn Brown will make his Jamaica debut.

With regular striker-turned-winger Eddie Johnson and attacking midfielder Clint Dempsey unavailable, Jurgen Klinsmann has picked two strikers and looks to be going with a 4-4-2 formation for the United States' World Cup qualifier against Jamaica. Alejandro Bedoya has played a variety of positions in his career, so this lineup isn't necessarily a 4-4-2, but he's been used most as a right winger for the USMNT.

Jamaica have gone with a back three in their last two games, but look like they're also going with a back four. Their lineup could take multiple shapes, like the U.S., but also like the U.S., 4-4-2 looks most likely. Colorado Rapids star Deshorn Brown has been handed his debut.

United States (4-4-2)Tim Howard; Brad Evans, Geoff Cameron, Matt Besler, DaMarcus Beasley; Alejandro Bedoya, Mikkel Diskerud, Jermaine Jones, Landon Donovan; Aron Johannsson, Jozy Altidore

Jamaica (4-3-3): Duwayne Kerr; Lloyd Doyley, Wes Morgan, Adrian Mariappa, Demar Phillips; Jobi McAnuff, Rodolph Austin, Je-Vaughn Watson, Ryan Johnson; Darren Mattocks, Deshorn Brown

As a reminder, the U.S. have already qualified for the World Cup. Jamaica will be eliminated if they fail to win on Friday. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. ET from Sporting Park in Kansas City. You can catch the game on ESPN in the United States.
