Costa Rica vs. Mexico: Lineups

Mexico travels to Costa Rica needing at least a point to assure themselves a spot in the playoff round against New Zealand.

Mexico took control of their qualification destiny thanks to their last minute winner against Panama on Friday. Needing a win or draw to guarantee their place in the playoff against New Zealand, head coach Víctor Manuel Vucetich has made just one change from his side that defeated Panama. In comes Cristian Jiménez to start on the right wing, replacing Giovani Dos Santos.

Costa Rica meanwhile have secured a place in Brazil but could potentially deny Mexico a spot in the World Cup with a victory. Jorge Luis Pinto makes just once change to him lineup that lost against Honduras on Friday bringing in striker Joel Campbell in place of Álvaro Saborio.

Costa Rica (3-4-2-1): Keylor Navas; Johnny Acosta, Giancarlo González, Michael Umaña; Christian Gamboa, Celso Borges, José Miguel Cubero, Junior Díaz; Brayn Ruiz, Cristian Bolaños; Joel Campbell.

Mexico (4-1-3-2): Guillermo Ochoa; Miguel Layun, Rafael Marquez, Hugo Ayala, Jorge Torres; Jesús Zavala; Cristian Jiménez, Carlos Peña, Javier Aquino; Javier Hernández, Uribe Peralta.
