UEFA Champions League 2013: Big wins for Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich

Julian Finney

Two rounds of the Champions League group stags are now complete and already some notable clubs are finding themselves with battles on their hands.

It feels just like yesterday the Champions League group stages had just kicked off. Now we're one-third of the way through the process and starting to get an idea of who looks to be challenging for a spot in the Round of 16 and who is in real trouble. It's still early though and things can change, so don't take things to the bank just yet.

In Turin, Juventus were less than impressive but still nearly escaped with three points until a late equailzer by Umut Bulut forced them into their second straight group stage draw. Bayern Munich hammered Manchester City, Manchester United drew with Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Sociedad's nightmarish season continued in Germany.

Here's a look at all of Wendesday's results from Groups A, B, C and D.

Group A

Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 Real Sociedad

La Real's disastrous season continued thanks to a stoppage time goal from Leverkusen's Jens Hegeler. Simon Rolfes put the Germans in front in first half stoppage time but a Carlos Vela penalty pulled La Real even just six minutes into the second half. With a point seemingly earned, Hegler ripped the Spanish side's hearts out in the 91st minute, all but ending La Real's campaign.

Shakhtar Donetsk 1-1 Manchester United

Danny Welbeck gave United an early lead but they couldn't hold on as Donetsk equalized 14 minutes from the final whistle.

Group C

Anderlecht 0-3 Olympiakos

Olympiakos got a well deserved road victory behind a hat trick from Kostas Mitroglou. Trailing 1-0 midway through the first half, Anderlecht's Aleksandar Mitrović missed a penalty and it was all downhill from there. Olympiakos move up to second place in the group, three points behind PSG.

Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 Benfica

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's early goal put PSG in front and they never looked back as they rolled over Benfica to take over first place in their group. Mariquinhos doubled the French club's lead in the 25th minute and five minutes later, Zlatan added a second goal to wrap things up nicely.

Group D

CSKA Moscow 3-2 Viktoria Plzen

An embarrassing howler by Plzen goalkeeper Matús Kozácik was the difference as CSKA Moscow held on late for the victory.

Manchester City 1-3 Bayern Munich

Franck Ribéry, Thomas Müller and Arjen Robben all scored as the defending champions hammered Manchester City at the Ethiad Stadium.
