Real Madrid vs. Juventus: Preview and TV schedule

Denis Doyle

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti faces his former club at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday, with Juventus travelling to the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid may have more than half an eye on the upcoming Clásico, though the small matter of a Champions League group game against Italian champions Juventus is to be seen to first. Carlo Ancelotti's Merengues are currently sitting top of Group B after convincing wins against Copenhagen and Galatasaray, though Juve have gotten off to a stuttering start.

Antonio Conte's team have only managed draws in their opening couple of Champions League games, and haven't been in the best of form in the league either. They were left shellshocked by a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Fiorentina in Serie A on the weekend, and their chances of making it four wins in a row against the Spaniards look slim to say the least.

Unfortunately for the bianconeri, Ancelotti's side's only early doubt is Gareth Bale -- and even he should be fit enough to appear in some capacity after making an appearance in their last win over Málaga. Juventus' injury list is rather longer, though Stephan Lichtsteiner is arguably the only key first teamer unavailable for Antonio Conte. He's sidelined along with Simone Pepe, Mirko Vučinić and Fabio Quagliarella.
