UEFA Europa League 2013: The halfway point of the group stage nears

Gareth Copley

Match day three in the Europa League group stages presents several teams with a chance to take control of the groups while others are scrambling to stay in the fight to advance.

Because two straight days of pressure cooker level Champions League action just isn't enough, we present the latest match day in the Europa League. After Thursday's round we'll be at the halfway point of the group stages and should have a pretty good idea of who has a chance to advance and who is on the verge of being knocked out.

Several teams, including Tottenham, Swansea City, Fiorentina, Sevilla and Eintracht Frankfurt could all finish the day with nine points and a solid hold on the top spots in their groups. Wigan Athletic have surprised many so far with a win and a draw from their first two matches and have a huge opportunity to move into first as they host Group D leader Rubin Kazan.

Spanish sides Valencia and Real Betis both need positive results from their games to avoid failing further behind in their groups, while Italian side Lazio hope to keep pace with, or get ahead of, Trabzonspor in Group J.

Here's a complete schedule of Thursday's games from Group A to Group L. All times listed are ET.
