Norwich City vs. Chelsea: Preview and TV schedule

Clive Rose

Norwich City welcome Chelsea to Carrow Road on Sunday, looking to recover from their slow start to the season.

Norwich City's start to the season has been something of an anticlimax after their impressive transfer campaign in the summer. However, a narrow 1-0 win over Stoke City in their last match has seen the Canaries move up into 14th place ahead of their unenviable game at home to Chelsea on Sunday, perhaps finally kickstarting their campaign.

Chelsea have been far from perfect so far, though are still strong favourites to pick up three points this weekend. They impressed in romping to a 4-0 victory over Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League in midweek, in a confidence-boosting performance on the back of a 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the league. A win could see them move within a point of the top of the table.

For this match Norwich will be without Elliott Bennett through a knee injury, while captain Sébastien Bassong is doubtful with a hamstring injury. Chelsea have Marco van Ginkel and Fernando Torres both definitely unavailable, while Eden Hazard -- who missed the win over Steaua -- faces a fitness test on a slight ankle problem.

Out: Elliott Bennett (knee). In doubt: Sébastien Bassong (hamstring).
