Belgium vs. Colombia: Preview and TV schedule

Mike Hewitt

The two World Cup dark horses face off in a friendly in Brussels on Thursday, with Belgium hosting Colombia.

Both Belgium and Colombia have been extremely impressive in their respective World Cup qualification campaigns, and meet in a friendly on Thursday having ensured their places at Brazil 2014. There may not be anything but pride at stake, but that doesn't mean this game will be boring.

These sides boast some of the best attacking talent around at the moment, meaning we should see plenty of goals. Belgium's mean attack should be spearheaded by Romelu Lukaku and orchestrated by Eden Hazard, while Colombia's Radamel Falcao will enjoy feeding off the ever-exciting midfield trio of James Rodríguez, Fredy Guarín and Juan Cuadrado.

Belgium will be without Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany through injury, while fellow centre-back Thomas Vermaelen is in doubt. Colombia too have a handful of injury concerns, with perhaps the most notable absentee being goalkeeper David Ospina. His absence should see young goalkeeper Camilo Vargas handed his first cap. Italy-based defensive pair Juan Zúñiga and Mario Yepes are both also unavailable.
