Basel vs. Chelsea: Lineups

Clive Rose

Juan Mata is left out of Jose Mourinho's starting lineup as his team stick with their 4-3-3 against FC Basel.

Jose Mourinho once again leaves Juan Mata out of his side as he prepares to get revenge over FC Basel in Switzerland.

His side suffered an early blow to their group stage hopes by losing at home to Basel, but since then the Blues have taken control of the group.

Having seen his side register a comfortable win at the weekend with the formation, John Obi Mikel keeps his place in the team, with Frank Lampard and Ramires in midfield. Oscar and Willian form a front three with Samuel Eto'o spearheading the attack. John Terry and Gary Cahill are chosen in central defence, while Cesar Azpilicueta continues at left-back.

Basel starting lineup (4-5-1): Yann Sommer; Kay Voser, Fabian Schar, Ivan Ivanov, Taulant Xhaka; Serey Die, Fabien Frei, Mohamed Elneny, Mohamed Salah, Valentin Stocker; Marco Streller.

Chelsea starting lineup (4-3-3): Petr Cech; Cesar Azpilicueta, John Terry, Gary Cahill, Branislav Ivanovic; John Obi Mikel, Frank Lampard, Ramires; Willian, Samuel Eto'o, Oscar.
