Inter Milan vs. Sampdoria: Preview and TV schedule

Marco Luzzani

Siniša Mihajlović's career as Sampdoria coach has begun with an unenviably difficult couple of games, with on-form Inter Milan up next.

Coach Siniša Mihajlović's return to Sampdoria 15 years after last pulling on the blucerchiati jersey as a player has started with two nasty games -- and coincidentally a return to two of his other former clubs. He started with a creditable draw against Lazio last weekend, though up next is a trip to the San Siro to play Inter Milan, where Mihajlović played for a couple of years at the end of his career before joining the backroom staff as assistant coach.

But, with Samp still winless in four and currently in the bottom three, the nerazzurri shouldn't expect any gifts. Not that anyone would expect niceties from friendly Siniša. Besides, having started the season pretty impressively, Inter shouldn't really need any gifts. Walter Mazzarri has turned their fortunes impressively, with them currently riding high in fourth place. With the likes of Rodrigo Palacio and Ricky Álvarez playing as well as they ever have done, Inter should beat Samp.

However, they will be without a few notable players through injury, including Mauro Icardi, Diego Milito and Walter Samuel, while Yuto Nagatomo will also likely miss out. For Sampdoria, the suspended Nenad Krstičić is the only definite absentee, though could be joined on the sidelines by a string of other doubtfuls.

Inter Milan injuries and suspensions

Out: Cristian Chivu, Mauro Icardi, Diego Milito, Walter Samuel (injured). In doubt: McDonald Mariga, Zdravko Kuzmanović, Yuto Nagatomo.
