André Villas-Boas has had a pretty tough time of it lately. Tottenham Hotspur have dropped to ninth place in the Premier League table after going three games without a win; losing their last league match 6-0 to Manchester City. Rumours of the Portuguese manager's departure have been swirling, and Manchester United will look to crank up the pressure on him yet further this weekend.

United have hardly been hugely convincing this season either, though their 5-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in midweek has served as a handy confidence booster after a disappointing 2-2 draw with Cardiff City last weekend. The Red Devils are now unbeaten in their last 11 in all competitions, and sit sixth in the Premier League table.
Spurs will be without Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose through injury, while Emmanuel Adebayor could miss out after picking up a groin injury against Manchester City. Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher are still sidelined for United, though Rafael da Silva, Nemanja Vidić and Robin van Persie could all return from their respective injury problems.
