Manchester City vs. Arsenal: Preview and TV schedule

Michael Regan

The Premier League weekend starts with a bang on Saturday, as league leaders Arsenal travel to play Manchester City.

Arsenal have no time to recover from their midweek scare against Napoli in the Champions League, with a tough trip to Manchester City opening the Premier League weekend. The Gunners will look to try and return to winning ways after being frustrated by Everton last week, but come up against a side which has won all seven of its home games this campaign.

Manuel Pellegrini's team have been shaky on the road, but at the Etihad they've looked serious Premier League contenders. Should they make it eight in a row and beat the Gunners, they'd cut their deficit to the league leaders to a considerably less-comfortable three points. What's more, the Citizens come into the game buoyed by an unlikely comeback win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League in midweek.

However, City will still be without Stevan Jovetić and Matija Nastasić, while Micah Richards is also sidelined after picking up a hamstring injury. Former Arsenal left-back Gaël Clichy could miss this game with a foot problem. As for Arsenal, they'll still be without Yaya Sanogo, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Abou Diaby, Ryo Miyaichi and Bacary Sagna, though Lukas Podolski could return from his long-term hamstring layoff.

Manchester City injuries and suspensions

Out: Stevan Jovetić (calf), Matija Nastasić (calf), Micah Richards (hamstring). In doubt: Gaël Clichy (foot).

Arsenal injuries and suspensions
