Hull City vs. Stoke City: Preview and TV schedule

Michael Steele

Hull and Stoke are separated by just a point in the Premier League table, and meet in Saturday's teatime kickoff.

Hull City and Stoke City have both had reasonably solid starts to the season, with the Tigers adapting to life in the Premier League well and the Potters to life under Mark Hughes about as well as could've been expected. Hull are currently just a point ahead of Stoke in the Premier League table and five points clear of the relegation zone, with the two sides going head-to-head at the KC Stadium late on Saturday.

The form book gives Stoke the advantage, with Hull having only won one of their last five games in the Premier League. However, the Tigers have only lost once in front of their own fans, contrasting with Stoke's failure to win in their last five games away from the Britannia Stadium. All factors considered, it's the hosts who head into this game as slight favourites.

Hull boss Steve Bruce will be unable to select the injured Stephen Quinn, Sone Aluko and Joe Dudgeon, though it's Hughes who has the greater selection concerns of the two managers. He'll be without Robert Huth, Erik Pieters and Jonathan Walters, and goalkeeper Asmir Begović looks likely to miss out too with a thigh injury.

Hull City injuries and suspensions

Out: Stephen Quinn (hamstring), Sone Aluko (calf), Joe Dudgeon (knee). In doubt: None.

Stoke City injuries and suspensions

Out: Robert Huth (knee), Erik Pieters (groin), Jonathan Walters (suspended). In doubt: Asmir Begović (thigh), Charlie Adam (knock).
