Manchester United vs. West Ham United: Preview and TV schedule

Mike Hewitt

Manchester United will look to secure consecutive league victories with a win over struggling West Ham on Saturday.

Manchester United's 3-0 win over Aston Villa last weekend ended their run of four Premier League games without a win, lifting David Moyes' side to a lofty eighth place. They should be able to make it two in a row against West Ham on Saturday -- though after such a terrible start to the season, nothing is ever certain.

Then again, the Hammers are only one place above the relegation zone heading into the round, and have only won three of their opening 16 league matches this season. Even despite the Red Devils' struggles, it's hard to see Sam Allardyce's side winning at Old Trafford for the first time since 2007.

United will still be without important first-teamers Michael Carrick and Robin van Persie, while Marouane Fellaini, Nemanja Vidić and -- most concerningly -- Wayne Rooney are also all in doubt. West Ham have a string of injury and suspension problems too, with Andy Carroll, Winston Reid, Stewart Downing and Kevin Nolan among those unavailable. They'll be hoping James Tomkins passes a late fitness test on a groin problem.

Manchester United injuries and suspensions

Out: Darren Fletcher (illness), Michael Carrick (Achilles), Robin van Persie (thigh). In doubt: Wayne Rooney (groin), Marouane Fellaini (back), Nemanja Vidić (knock).

West Ham United injuries and suspensions

Out: Andy Carroll (ankle), Ricardo Vaz Tê (shoulder), Mladen Petrić (calf), Winston Reid (ankle), Stewart Downing (calf), Kevin Nolan (suspended). In doubt: James Tomkins (groin).
