Tottenham vs. West Bromwich Albion: Preview and TV schedule

Paul Gilham

Tim Sherwood has shed the interim tag at Spurs and will now attempt to build on his team's win over the weekend as they welcome West Brom on Boxing Day.

Tim Sherwood went undefeated in league play as Tottenham's interim manager -- a win over Southampton -- and will now attempt to keep things rolling along as the official new manager of the team.

The Spurs offense has perked up since Sherwood took over after Andre Villas-Boas was sacked, in large part thanks to Emmanuel Adebayor's return to the starting lineup. The striker has caught fire scoring three goals in two games after falling out of favor under AVB. Sherwood will have to navigate this match and the rest of the busy holidays schedule with several players out injured.

West Brom have undergone recent coaching upheaval as well with Steve Clarke's dismissal in mid-December. Interim boss Keith Downing ended the club's four game skid with a draw against Hull, but history is not on his team's side against Spurts. The Baggies haven't defeated Spurs in five years and it's been nearly 30 years since they won at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham injuries and suspensions

Out: Paulinho (suspended), Andros Townsend (hamstring), Younes Kaboul (thigh), Jan Vertonghen (ankle), Harry Kane (back). In doubt: Sandro (calf), Mousa Dembele (foot), Aaron Lennon (abdomen).

West Brom injuries and suspensions

In Doubt: Victor Anichebe (groin)

West Brom's only injury issue is forward Victor Anichebe whose groin might keep him out of the Boxing Day match. Spurs on the other hand will be missing a laundry list's worth of players to injuries including Townsend, Kaboul and Vertonghen. Paulinho is serving the final game of his three match ban for a red card.
