Celtic vs. Juventus, 2013 UEFA Champions League: Lineups

Clive Rose

Celtic have gotten boosts from a trio of players who will play versus Juventus despite fitness concerns.

Celtic will have a wild Celtic Park supporting them, but they also need players. Crazy idea, right? Lucky for them, they have gotten some good fitness news and will have a stronger team than expected.

Emilio Izaguirre is in the team despite being a major doubt due to a knee injury, but the Honduran has clearly recovered and is a major boost at left back. James Forrest is also starting after battling a hamstring problem, while Efe Ambrose is a shock inclusion after just returning from an African Cup of Nations winning campaign with Nigeria. With all three in the team, all of whom were doubts, Celtic is a much, much stronger team than most anticipated.

As expected, Juventus are in a 3-5-2, but there isn't a surprising selection in it. Antonio Conte is going with his best, at least of those who are fit, which may not be exciting, but Juventus under Conte have always been effective, if boring.

Celtic: Fraser Forster, Mikael Lustig, Kelvin Wilson, Efe Ambrose, Emilio Izaguirre, James Forrest, Scott Brown, Victor Wanyama, Charlie Mulgrew, Kris Commons, Gary Hooper.

Juventus: Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci, Federico Peluso, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Arturo Vidal, Andrea Pirlo, Claudio Marchisio, Martin Caceres, Alessandro Matri, Mirko Vucinic.
