Serie A week 25, preview and fixtures: Four days of hot Serie A action

Italian football just never stops. On Thursday, Inter, Lazio and Napoli all played in Europa League, while Juventus stomped all over Celtic in the Champions League on Tuesday. With Milan set to take on Barcelona on Wednesday, the Italian football gods have been kind enough to juggle the weekend schedule so that every side gets enough rest.

So without further ado, here are your four days of calcio:

Friday, February 15

8:45 p.m. local, 2:45 p.m. ET

AC Milan v Parma

Milan had to settle for a draw with Cagliari last week, but have still managed to climb up to fifth in the standings. But with the match against Barcelona looming over their heads, will the rossoneri be able to deal with the credible threat that is Parma?

Saturday, February 16

Chievo Verona v Palermo (6 p.m. local, 12 noon ET)

Well, this match should be delightful. Thanks so much, FIGC, for scheduling it at a time that conflicts with no other games.

AS Roma v Juventus (8:45 p.m. local, 2:45 p.m. ET)

A side that loves to attack hosts the club with the best defensive record in the league. But with Juve feeling a bit tired after Champions League play, this could be the week that Roma turn themselves around. It won't be, but the possibility exists.

Sunday, February 17

3 p.m. local, 9 a.m. ET

Catania v Bologna

Interesting points to note: Catania are two points above Roma and three behind those evil manager-stealers, Fiorentina. Bologna have scored 33 goals, let in just 34, but remain concerned about relegation. This doesn't tell you anything about how the match will go, but knowledge is power, my friends.

Genoa v Udinese

Being one point out of the relegation zone doesn't make Genoa secure, but the fact that they haven't lost in three matches is pretty impressive for the rossoblu this season. That run may come to an end this weekend, however, with Udinese having picked up 12 points from 6 matches, moving themselves up to seventh along the way.

Napoli v Sampdoria

Considering Napoli were demolished by Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on Thursday, it's not outside the realm of possibility that Samp, who are unbeaten in three, come to the San Paolo and make the partenopei wish for a volcanic eruption.

Pescara v Cagliari

Just keep your head above...swim

Torino v Atalanta

A measly one point separates these two sides. But with neither squad showing any spark of talent at, say, putting the ball in the back of the net, this match will likely be less thrilling than Chievo - Palermo.

Fiorentina v Inter Milan (8:45 p.m. local, 2:45 p.m. ET)

This would be a great match to close out the weekend with...except the Serie A weekend continues. Still, it's two sides that have disappointed in January meeting to see if either can cling to their chance of glory. As long as the Viola don't forget to show up, as they did last week against Juventus, this could be the best match of the week.

Monday, February 18

8:45 p.m. local, 2:45 p.m. ET

Siena v Lazio

If Genoa can beat Lazio, surely Siena can too, right? Particularly after a full-strength biancocelesti squad wore themselves out in a 3-3 draw with Gladbach. After all, Siena are no longer at the bottom of the table. Granted, that's due to the minor detail of goal difference, but it's progress.
