Fernando Vazquez's reclamation project got just a little bit harder as his side suffered their fifth straight loss today against Sevilla. Gary Medel led the Sevillistas with two goals.
It appears that the manager wasn't the problem at Deportivo La Coruña as the Blanquiazules lost their fifth straight match today, falling 3-1 at Sevilla. For Unai Emery, it's a good win after his team hit a speed bump against Real Madrid last weekend.
There's still time for Fernando Vazquez to turn things around for Depor but something will need to happen quick if they want to avoid a one way pass back to the Segunda División.
Sevilla wasted little time getting in front of Depor. Ivan Rakitic headed home a cross from Andujar Coke on only the fifth minute of the match. They nearly added a second after the restart but Depor keeper Daniel Aranzubia made an outstanding save on Jose Antonio Reyes to keep the match at 1-0. Not that it really mattered in the end.
In the 27th minute, Jesus Navas played a great ball through the Depor defense to Gary Medel who launched a shot that Reyes had no hope of stopping.
This visitors answered back five minutes later when Riki re-directed a pass from Abel Aguilar past Beto to pull Depor within a goal at 2-1. Unfortunately for Vazquez his team would get no closer.
Gary Medel scored his second goal of the match five minutes before the halftime whistle, finishing off Alberto Moreno's cross from close range.
