Porto vs. Malaga, 2013 UEFA Champions League: Lineups

Stay connected with SB Nation

James Rodriguez is not fit to start for Porto and instead takes a place on the bench.

The Colombian winger was subject to a late fitness test and has not made the cut, although is likely to be subbed on at some point during the game. Silvetre Varela and Marat Izmailov both start instead, either side of Jackson Martinez in attack. Lucho Gonzalez, Fernando and Joao Moutinho comprise the midfield for the hosts.

Malaga, meanwhile, line up largely as expected, with Isco, Julio Baptista and Joaquin behind Roque Santa Cruz up front. Bruno Demichelis is also surprisingly chosen in defence ahead of Diego Lugano - a gamble it will be interesting to watch.

Porto (4-3-3): Helton; Alex Sandro, Eliaquim Mangala, Nicolás Otamendi, Danilo; Lucho González, Fernando, Joao Moutinho; Silvestre Varela, Jackson Martínez, Marat Izmailov.

Malaga (4-2-3-1): Willy Caballero; Vitorino Antunes, Weligton, Bruno Demichelis, Sergio Sánchez; Jeremy Toulalan, Manuel Iturra; Isco, Julio Baptista, Joaquín; Roque Santa Cruz.
