Substitute Ezequiel Schelotto, on for just three minutes, put Inter on level terms with a sharp header. But will Milan have a response?
Inter Milan have tied things up in the Milan Derby, thanks to a fantastic header from substitute Ezequiel Schelotto. The winger, signed on deadline day from Atalanta, replaced Esteban Cambiasso in the 68th minute. Just three minutes later, he made his mark on the match, and possibly permanently etched his name into the hearts of nerazzurri supporters everywhere.
Yuto Nagatomo, who switched places with Javier Zanetti following the halftime break, sent a great cross into the center of the box. Philippe Mexes mistimed his jump, allowing Schelotto to leap up, put his head on the ball and drive one past Christian Abbiati.
With about fifteen minutes left to play, Andrea Stramaccioni might have signaled his intentions to be satisfied with just a point. He's brought off Ricardo Alvarez, replacing him with defensive midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic. But will Milan make Inter pay for this cautious approach? After all, Mario Balotelli has yet to score...
