A double from German Denis ruined Cristian Bucchi's debut on the Pescara bench, as Atalanta came from behind to beat the Delfini 2-1.

The victory sees Atalanta earn back-to-back wins for the first time since November, while Pescara have collected just one point in nine games. Bucchi was given a dream start after a first half screamer from Gaetano D'Agostino put his side ahead. Denis moved into double figures for the season after his penalty levelled matters, before the striker landed the killer blow midway through the second half.

Bucchi is the third tactician to sit in the Pescara hotseat this season after being promoted from the club's Primavera side. He threw Per Kroldrup straight into the mix after the Danish defender joined on a free this week, despite not playing a competitive game in 21 months. Atalanta's Carlos Carmona missed out through suspension.

Pescara soaked up the early pressure and took the lead with their first real foray towards goal on 24 minutes. D'Agostino received the ball from Giuseppe Sculli and hit a perfect left footed drive from the edge of the box into the top left corner, giving Andrea Consigli no chance.

The lead lasted just ten minutes after Pescara conceded their eighth penalty of the season. Damiano Zanon slid in on Giacomo Bonaventura in the box and the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Denis stepped up and sent Ivan Pelizzoli the wrong way as he rolled the ball into the bottom corner.

Atalanta began the second half brightly as Pelizzoli caught a Stefano Lucchini bicycle kick. Cristiano Del Grosso bent a dangerous cross into the box, but both Marko Livaja and Denis didn't do enough to get on the end of it and the chance went begging.

Pescara suffered a blow when they lost Vladimir Weiss to injury after the playmaker failed to shake off a couple of robust challenges. Atalanta then hit the front halfway through the second half after a quick counter attack. Davide Biondini ran close to 50 yards as he held off Manuele Blasi, then crossed for Denis to chest down and blast the ball into the roof of the net from eight yards.

Emmanuel Cascione and Giuseppe De Luca both wasted headers for their respective sides in the latter stages. Consigli then clashed with Pescara substitute Mervan Celik after the goalkeeper ran out to punch clear Eugenio Romulo Togni's free kick.

It was a tense final few moments as Stefano Colantuono and his assistant were both sent from the touchline for constantly encroaching onto the pitch and protesting. Colantuono actually ran across the pitch to scream some last second instructions to his players on his way to the stands.
