Manchester United vs. Chelsea: Lineups

Clive Rose

Wayne Rooney returns to the Manchester United starting eleven, partnering Javier Hernandez in attack, while Demba Ba starts up front for Chelsea.

Wayne Rooney starts for Manchester United against Chelsea, with Robin van Persie dropping to the bench.

Javier Hernandez partners the England striker, likely due to his remarkable record of scoring against Chelsea, while Nani again makes the starting line-up, along with Shinji Kagawa. Jonny Evans also returns to the defence in Nemanja Vidic's stead.

Chelsea, meanwhile, opt for Demba Ba up front with Ramires and Frank Lampard in midfield. Victor Moses and Juan Mata start in the attacking three, but there is no room for Eden Hazard in the starting lineup.

Manchester United starting lineup (4-4-2): David De Gea; Rafael, Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans, Patrice Evra; Nani Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Shinji Kagawa; Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez.

Chelsea starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Petr Cech; Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, David Luiz, Ashley Cole; Frank Lampard, Ramires; Oscar, Juan Mata, Victor Moses; Demba Ba.
