Mario Gomez in, Miroslav Klose out for Germany

Joachim Löw has called in Mario Gomez to cover for the injured first choice striker Miroslav Klose as Germany prepares for to qualifiers against Kazakhstan.

With Miroslav Klose unavailable thank to an injury, Germany manager Joachim Löw has called in Mario Gomez for his side's two upcoming World Cup qualifiers on March 22 and 26 against Kazakhstan.

In fact Gomez is the only forward on the roster as Löw continues to not call up Stefan Kießling, the second leading scorer in the Bundesliga this season with 16 goals. He's not been a part of the national team since a match against Uruguay in the 2010 World Cup. Löw claims that Kießling doesn't fit into his philosophy have confused some observers.

Beyond that decision, the Germany squad is surprise free with the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Marco Reus, Mario Goetze and Marcel Schmelzer all returning after missing Germany's friendly against France in February because of injury.

First place Germany will play both of their upcoming qualifiers against 5th place Kazakhstan who have only earned one point in four games.

Here's the full squad.

Goalkeepers: Manuel Neuer, Rene Adler, Ron-Robert Zieler.

Defenders: Jerome Boateng, Benedikt Hoewedes, Philipp Lahm, Per Mertesacker, Marcel Schmelzer, Heiko Westermann

Midfielders: Lars Bender, Sven Bender, Julian Draxler, Mario Goetze, Ilkay Guendogan, Sami Khedira, Toni Kroos, Thomas Mueller, Mesut Özil, Lukas Podolski, Marco Reus, Andre Schuerrle, Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Forwards: Mario Gomez.
