Inter Milan has staged a stunning 3-goal comeback and forced extra time in the Europea League tie against Tottenham.
Tottenham entered today's Europa League second leg match against Inter Milan with a 3-0 lead after the first leg in London. 90 minutes later they're preparing for 30 minutes of extra time after a stunning comeback from the Italian side.
Antonio Cassano scored 20 minutes into the first half, receiving a cross from Rodrigo Palacio at the far post and beating Brad Friedel with a powerful header that went off the ground and into the top of the net.
Inter scored seven minutes into the second half when when Palacio got behind William Gallas and beat Friedel one-on-one to the far post to make it 2-0 for the Italians. In the 75th minute Cassano's free kick from 20-yards out hit off the Spurs wall and was re-directed into the net by Gallas who attempted an ill-advised back heel clearance.
Both sides came close in the final minutes but neither could find the winner and we're heading to extra time.
Just a reminder extra time last 30 minutes and is made up of two 15-minute halves. There is no golden goal rule and all the time will be played no matter how many goals are scored (if any). The away goal rule still applies so if both teams score and end up tied after the extra time, Spurs will advance. If the match remains 3-3 on aggregate, the winner will be decided by penalty kicks.
Enjoy!
